I wanted to extend my thanks and sincere appreciation to Bill Smith and the entire crew at CX-Energy for a job well done! It is clear they know what they are doing and enjoy their jobs.

My family owned a large farm in Washington County, SE of Washington, PA. The farm was left to my father and my uncle when my grandparents passed away. My sister and I inherited half of the property from our parents and became co-owners with our uncle who still lives on the property. I have fond memories of summers on the farm, but I live in Atlanta, GA, and have no plans to return to the area. Over many years we’ve paid our share of the taxes and insurance and contributed to the general upkeep of the structures. The farm produced no income and became a proverbial money pit for my sister and me. In a perfect world we wanted the farm to stay completely in the family. Unfortunately, my uncle could not afford to buy us out and we could not easily sell half of the property without completely disrupting the entire family.

I had run out of ideas when I met Bill. He took the time to listen to my problem and understand the family dynamics at play. He was ingenious and came up with some extremely creative options that we did not know existed. He helped us realize that the per acre values of the land and the mineral assets were virtually the same and helped us find a way for the two sides of the family to trade assets. In short, my uncle and his family keep their home intact and my sister and I have sold the mineral leases and no longer have the burden of the physical property. CX-Energy became a one stop shop for my family. They provided us with the real estate and legal expertise that we needed especially since we live hundreds of miles away.

I first met Bill Smith of CX-Energy at a local bar association function, where they were one of the vendors who rented booth space to meet local lawyers. Since I practice primarily in the field of wills and estates at this time, I was mildly interested; my associate, who practices primarily family law, has had the issue of valuing mineral interests come up several times in the past few years, so I took the time to meet Bill and find out about their services. I picked up a one-page flyer and put it with my educational materials from that session.

Less than two months later, the issue came up in an estate in which I represented one of the heirs. I talked to my client, then called Bill. CX-Energy was professional and thorough, and they were transparent; Bill took time to explain the entire process to me and my client, and they did an excellent job for us, obtaining twice the price a local firm had offered.

I wanted to let you know that one of your staff basically saved my life. I have been trying to sell a piece of land in Northwest Pennsylvania for the last ten years. I serve as the spokesperson for six family members who inherited mineral rights. At age 65, I am the youngest of the group as the others are aunts and uncles ranging in age from 85-90. I note this as the others relied upon me to find a buyer or someone to lease our mineral rights. This task became very time consuming and frustrating. I spent over 5 years responding to inquiries from various companies expressing an interest in our properties. I also joined a landowners group. I spoke with attorneys and followed several websites in hopes of moving our leases. On a particular website, I saw advertisements for CX- Energy. From the moment we accepted the offer, the remaining process was simply smooth and user friendly. Rick himself visited my relatives for signatures since I reside several hours away. The company that purchased our lease had what I considered a very healthy relationship with CX-Energy and dialogues moved across the two companies with ease. In closing, I would without reservation recommend CX- Energy to anyone considering the leasing or sale of mineral rights.
